About Me

I’m Freena Tailor (she/her), a Psychologist (FMBPsS) and Certified Executive Function Coach with over 10 years’ experience supporting children, young people, families and adults. I provide private psychological therapy and ADHD coaching online and in person in Bedford.

My Background

I trained in NHS CAMHS as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) in my previous NHS roles and completed my clinical MSc in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People — a programme accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). I specialise in children and young people’s mental health, delivering psychological assessments within my scope of practice, therapy and coaching for a wide range of emotional and neurodevelopmental needs. My work is grounded in evidence‑based approaches and a deep commitment to inclusive, neuroaffirming practice.

My Experience

I have worked for many years in NHS Specialist CAMHS, providing therapeutic interventions, psychological assessments, and consultation to Social Care and Education teams. I currently work as Programme Director for two postgraduate programmes at a leading UK university, training clinicians and supervisors in child and adolescent mental health.

My Approach

When we work together, I take time to understand your unique experiences, strengths, and challenges so that any support we plan is genuinely tailored to your needs. My approach is typically short‑term and focused, often beginning with eight to ten sessions before we review your progress and reflect on your goals.

I draw from a wide range of evidence‑based therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), DBT, Solution‑Focused Therapy, Attachment‑Based and Parenting interventions, Mindfulness‑Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Systemic approaches. This integrative style allows me to adapt therapy to what feels most helpful for you, whether you’re seeking support for emotional wellbeing, neurodevelopmental needs such as ADHD, or challenges within family relationships.

My experience spans a broad spectrum of mental health and emotional difficulties, and I aim to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore what’s going on, build new skills, and move towards meaningful and sustainable change. My work is grounded in inclusive, neuroaffirming, evidence‑based practice, with a focus on helping you make steady progress and feel confident in the direction you’re heading.
