Support for Families Navigating Change

A diagnosis of ADHD, autism, or another neurodevelopmental difference can bring relief, clarity, and also uncertainty. Families often need time, space, and guidance to understand what the diagnosis means and how best to support their child. I offer warm, practical support to help you make sense of your child’s profile, reduce stress at home, and feel more confident in the steps ahead.

Understanding Your Child’s Needs

Post‑diagnosis support focuses on helping you understand your child’s sensory, emotional, and developmental needs. Together, we explore how your child experiences the world, what may be contributing to overwhelm or behaviour, and how to create environments that feel supportive and predictable. This process can help families move from confusion or worry to clarity, acceptance, and confidence.

Support for the Whole Family

Family sessions can help you navigate changes in routines, communication, and expectations. This may include understanding emotional regulation, supporting transitions, strengthening sibling relationships, and developing approaches that reduce stress for everyone. The aim is to help your family feel more connected, informed, and supported as you adjust to new information or changing needs.

A Neurodiversity‑Affirming Approach

My approach is strengths‑based and neuro‑affirming. I support families to embrace their child’s unique qualities, reduce shame or self‑blame, and build a shared understanding of what helps their child thrive. Whether your child is newly diagnosed or you have been navigating their neurodivergence for some time, this is a space to explore challenges with compassion and curiosity.

Evidence‑Based, Practical Guidance

Family support draws on psychological models such as CBT‑informed strategies, ACT principles, attachment‑based approaches, and systemic thinking. These approaches are adapted to your child’s neurotype and your family’s values. Sessions may include guidance around communication, co‑regulation, sensory needs, behaviour support, and working collaboratively with school or other professionals.

Therapy Intensives for Families

Alongside weekly sessions, I offer Family Support as a Therapy Intensive. These extended sessions (1.5 hours or more) allow time for deeper understanding, practical planning, and meaningful change. Intensives can be especially helpful after a new diagnosis, during periods of heightened stress, or when families want to make progress more quickly.

In‑Person & Online Sessions

I offer face‑to‑face sessions in Bedfordshire and online support for families across the UK, providing flexible access to guidance wherever you are.

A Supportive Space for Your Family

My aim is to help your family feel understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools that make daily life calmer and more connected. This is a space to ask questions, explore challenges, and build confidence in the path ahead.

I am a private psychologist based in Bedfordshire, offering in‑person and online therapy, psychological assessments, ADHD coaching, autism support, and evidence‑based mental health care for children, young people, adults, and families across the UK. I specialise in anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, OCD, executive function challenges, behaviour, school pressures, and neurodivergence. I also provide parenting support, family guidance, and relationship coaching for adults and parents navigating separation.

Sessions are warm, collaborative, and grounded in psychological expertise, with a focus on helping individuals and families create meaningful, sustainable change.
