Therapy Intensives

Therapy or Coaching Intensives are extended sessions that are goal-oriented and can take place anywhere between 90-minutes, half-day or full-day.

Intensives provide an alternative to the traditional 50-min-per-week model, aiming to deliver benefits earlier in the therapy/ coaching process. This approach offers a concentrated dose of therapy or coaching within a brief timeframe.

Focused, spacious, and transformative support designed for meaningful progress in less time

Therapy is evolving. Many people now need more flexible, responsive ways to access support beyond the traditional weekly model.

What is a Therapy Intensive?

Therapy Intensives offer a powerful alternative to traditional weekly sessions. Instead of spreading work across months, Intensives give you extended, uninterrupted time to explore what’s happening, understand patterns, and create real movement toward change. They are ideal for people who want deeper therapeutic work, who prefer longer sessions, or who simply don’t have the capacity for weekly appointments.

Intensives are available as:

  • 90‑minute sessions

  • Half‑day (3‑hour) sessions

  • Full‑day (6‑hour) sessions

These formats allow us to work at depth, integrate strategies, and build momentum in a way that shorter sessions often can’t achieve.

Who Therapy Intensives Are For

Therapy Intensives are particularly helpful if you:

  • Feel stuck and want to make meaningful progress quickly

  • Prefer longer, more spacious sessions

  • Are neurodivergent and benefit from extended time to settle, process, and integrate

  • Are navigating a significant life transition

  • Are experiencing overwhelm, burnout, or emotional dysregulation

  • Want focused support on a specific issue (e.g., anxiety, school avoidance, executive functioning, relationship stress)

  • Have limited availability for weekly therapy

  • Are a parent seeking concentrated support around your child’s needs

Intensives can be used as a standalone intervention or alongside ongoing therapy or coaching.

Why Choose an Intensive?

Traditional 50‑minute sessions can feel rushed, especially when you’re trying to explore complex experiences or regulate emotions while also learning new strategies. Intensives create the time and space needed to:

  • Go deeper without interruption

  • Understand patterns and emotional responses

  • Build emotional regulation skills

  • Develop practical tools you can use immediately

  • Integrate insights more fully

  • Leave with a clear plan and next steps

Many clients describe Intensives as “months of therapy in a day.”

What We Can Focus On

Therapy Intensives can be tailored to children, teens, adults, or parents. Common areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD

  • Emotional regulation and anger

  • ADHD‑related challenges and executive functioning

  • Autism‑related support and sensory/emotional needs

  • School avoidance or attendance difficulties

  • Stress, overwhelm, burnout

  • Low mood and motivation

  • Life transitions (starting university, separation, new diagnosis)

  • Parenting support and family dynamics

  • Relationship stress or conscious uncoupling

  • Building confidence and self‑esteem

Each Intensive is designed around your goals and what will be most helpful for you.

What to Expect

Before the Intensive

You’ll complete a brief pre‑session questionnaire so I can understand your goals, needs, and what you’d like to focus on. This ensures the session is tailored and purposeful.

During the Intensive

Depending on the length you choose, we may work through:

  • Exploration of current challenges

  • Understanding patterns and emotional responses

  • Practical tools for regulation, planning, and coping

  • Executive function strategies

  • Psychoeducation around ADHD, Autism, anxiety, or emotional wellbeing

  • Parenting guidance or family‑focused work

  • Narrative or systemic exploration

  • Values‑based work and goal setting

Breaks are built in as needed, especially for neurodivergent clients or younger people.

After the Intensive

You’ll receive a personalised summary of key insights, strategies, and recommended next steps. Some clients choose to follow up with occasional sessions; others feel the Intensive gives them everything they need for now.

Why choose Freena as your coach?

I integrate my extensive psychological knowledge and experience as a professional psychologist and offer a unique combination that ensures a holistic approach to your emotional wellbeing. I adapt to best serve your individual situation and specific needs during the challenging process of conscious uncoupling.

Whilst I use the 5-step process to guide you through the programme, I am also able to offer a more flexible approach, if preferred, that is guided by the principles of Conscious Uncoupling. This is to ensure a personalised and effective journey based on your individual circumstances and preferences. If children are involved, we can expand our work to consider their development, understanding and emotional wellbeing.

I am dedicated to enabling you to foster an environment that remains loving and nurturing, with a focus on prioritising the wellbeing of both yourself and any children involved.
