Starting this blog feels like the right moment to bring together the conversations I have every day in my work as a psychologist here in Bedfordshire. So many families, young people, and adults tell me they wish there was a place to find clear, compassionate guidance about mental health, something grounded in psychological expertise but written in a way that feels human and reassuring. That’s exactly what I hope this space will become.
Whether you’re a parent trying to understand your child’s behaviour, a young person navigating big emotions, or an adult looking for support, I’m glad you’re here.
A Little About Me: Bedfordshire Psychologist Supporting Children, Young People & Families
I’m Freena, a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology and working as a private psychologist based in Bedfordshire. I work with children, young people, adults, and families across the UK, offering therapy, psychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, ADHD coaching, autism support, and guidance around emotional wellbeing.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I specialise in anxiety, emotional regulation, neurodivergence, school pressures, executive function challenges, and family wellbeing. I also support parents and adults navigating relationships, communication, and separation.
At the heart of my work is the belief that people thrive when they feel understood, supported, and given the tools to make meaningful, sustainable change.
Mental Health Topics This Blog Will Cover
This blog will grow into a collection of supportive, easy‑to‑read posts on topics that come up often in therapy, including:
• Understanding anxiety in children and young people
• Emotional regulation and coping strategies
• ADHD, executive function, and practical tools that actually help
• Autism‑affirming support and guidance
• School pressures, friendships, and family dynamics
• Parenting support and navigating tricky moments
• Mental health and wellbeing for adults
My aim is to make psychological ideas accessible and relatable, offering clarity and reassurance without jargon. Each post will be grounded in evidence‑based practice and shaped by the real‑life challenges families and individuals bring to therapy.
Why I Created This Mental Health & Wellbeing Blog
There is so much information online about mental health, but not all of it is accurate, compassionate, or helpful. Many people I meet feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice or unsure where to start. This mentla health blog is my way of creating a trustworthy space where you can learn, reflect, and feel supported.
If even one post helps you understand something more clearly or feel less alone in what you’re experiencing, then this space will have done what I hoped it would.
A Warm Welcome and What’s Next
Thank you for being here and for taking the time to read this first post. I’m looking forward to sharing more with you, starting with posts on child anxiety, emotional regulation, and the subtle ways stress shows up in everyday life.
If there’s a topic you’d like me to write about, feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear from you.
